Welsh History – Who was Aneurin Bevan? – 8th June 2020

Aneurin Bevan – or Nye Bevan – was a Welsh politician who was central to the creation of the National Health Service, which has undoubtedly improved our lives and made us healthier. The NHS is now on the front-line defending us against and defeating  Covid 19. But can you research this humble Welsh man who founded it?

  • Early Adult Life (Jobs, further education, family) page 5
  • Politician (where was he an MP for, what Party did he serve, his political beliefs) page 6
  • NHS (when was it set up, how was it set up, how was it paid for, where did Nye get the idea from) page 7

Break your book up using sub-headings and bullet point all these key facts. Also make sure you add others facts you find interesting!
